I started training late this week as I worked the long weekend so decided to have a lazy day on Tuesday :D I was still pretty tired on Wednesday and really couldn't be bothered going for a really long run so I decided to do something different and go for a bike ride! I hadn't touched a bike for about 3 years since training for my NZ run but everything went pretty good. I knew where I wanted to go but got a bit lost along the way, I seemed to get lost quite a lot, then I get really frustrated, then I find out where I am, and then I'm happy again :D So after I was happy and on the right track I cycled until 4pm, I knew I couldn't go any further or else I would be cycling in the dark in the middle of nowhere. It did get pretty dark near the end but by that time I was under street lights so that was OK. To get back to my place I had to go over the Gateway Bridge which is quite an effort on a Mountain Bike as it is really long and steep but a good workout!
The next day (Thursday) I was feeling pretty good apart from my butt which was pretty sore from the bike seat :( I wanted to get further than I did from Wednesday and I was pretty confident as I knew where to go this time and that's pretty much what happened :D Everything went great and made it back before dark! Both day's covered about 140 - 150 km's! Here's some more photo's of the two day's cycling (Lucky for you) :D
Today I decided to go for a 30 km run, I would have gone further but my legs were a tad sore from the cycling so didn't want to wreck myself :O The whole run was actually really easy, I decided to run over the Gateway bridge too to see how hard it wouldbe to run across, that was really easy also, doesn't seem as steep when your not on a bike!
So for the weekend I will be working again and will start my last month training on Monday, it will be a mix of 40 and 50 km runs along with more cycling and maybe some resistance training. It's all on from here ;D
