Day Six and Seven

Day number six started off extremely cold, it was insane, just like I was back in NZ with fog so thick I could only see the headlights of the vehicles on the road! Luckily I had a good sleep at the Glenview Tourist Park and Motel, the managers there are great and wanted to hear all about my run!

I pushes out the first 30 km's pretty quickly although my ankle started to get really sore, I strapped ...it up with the old sports strapping tape and that done the trick with the pain disappearing :D However my thigh was back to its old games and wanting to slow me down a bit by causing me a bit of pain, I thought it was getting better but I thought wrong!
I saw a kangaroo today hopping along the other side of the road, I love Aussie wildlife!

I had a few more people supporting me from their vehicles, one truck driver gave me a big toot and wave, he must have seen me on another day, that happened a lot when I ran the length of NZ!
I managed to finish on time again, I would have finished earlier if my thigh wasn't playing up but oh well!

We are staying at the Waterside Cabins in Woohoolga, they are really beautiful! I had a stroll down the beach before which was really nice, took lots of photos too, will post them when I get the chance :) 70km's tomorrow, hope my thigh isn't too bad again :O

One week down!!! Today was a mixture of good and bad, the day started off pretty bad! I had to get through 15 km's of bloody road works, after that my ankle started getting pretty painful! We couldn't find the strapping tape so Neil went and bought some when we went through Coffs Coast. After that the ankle was fine and then my thigh got really bad! Probably the worse it's ever been on the whole r...un, it was quite painful to run! I eventually got to the 40km mark and took a couple of nurofen which worked like magic! I was running at a great pace till the very end! Just a couple of kms towards the end Neil had lost his wallet and had to go back to all the stops since Coffs Coast but he couldn't find it, I felt really bad for him however after he got back we searched the car again and found it :D

We are staying at the Destiny Motor Inn in Nambucca Heads, another great place! Also, my article came out in The Daily Examiner in Grafton, I haven't seen it but apparently it's good, another will be out tomorrow in the Woolgoolga local paper :) Half way point tomorrow!!!!!!
