Well this week was less productive than I planned out to be, work seemed to get in the way a bit but I did manage to do a pretty good core workout which I am still hurting from and also two 45km bike rides, both on the same day so 90 km in total, I felt pretty good the whole way even after pushing myself pretty hard so my endurance is still up there :D
I plan to do a 50km run this week with a couple of smaller runs and another bike ride or two, oh and lets not forget the core training!
I received my brand spankin new Hoka OneOne shoes today in the post, I can't wait to tear these up on the trails! These are seriously the best shoes that I have run in, I'm not saying that just because they sponsor me, I really, REALLY mean it!!!! If you wanna find out more just head to their website www.hokaoneone.com.au
You would remember that I ran from Brisbane to Sydney to raise money for WSPA - The World Society for the Protection of Animals. Well I am still trying to help out animals and last week I was able to help out two dogs. On Wednesday I got a call from Neil who was down at the train station and he had picked up a dog that had just been hit by a car, it was unfortunate that the driver took off without even checking the poor doggy and then a police officer near by didn't want to help at all. Neil asked her to call the RSPCA, she said she would but then got on the train and left without doing anything, very sad. Neil then rang me and I came and picked the dog up, she was scared and shaken but after taking her to my house she was walking fine and wagging her tail again which was great. I rang the RSPCA who came quite quickly, scanned her for a microchip and found the owners right away, also found out her name was Peggy! She only had a couple of scrapes and was in great health. A really nice outcome and a testament as to how good the RSPCA are.
The next day when I was cycling to work I saw another dog running across the road with a torn leash, it looked quite happy and excited as there were other dogs in the different houses. I managed to get him and luckily this one had tags and phone numbers, his name was Harry. I was able to contact Harry's owner who came soon after to pick him up and was very grateful!
Also, here is me with a Lizard friend :D
Now, I am thinking about making a Youtube video where I will answer any questions that anyone may have! This could include questions about any of my running events, training, nutrition, gear etc. If you do have some questions that you would like to post then you can do so on either my Twitter, Facebook or send me a question directly on my contact page. The links to my social network sites are on the home page :D
